How will SHOTS2 make a difference?

  • Voter Registration: Voter Registration is the first step in building an informed powerful electorate. Our work is centered on students, justice impacted folks, and underrepresented communities.
  • Policy Guidance for Lawmakers: We work with numerous organizations to create and advocate for the policies that create joy and opportunity for the people and communities we serve.
  • Same -Day Voter Registration: We advocate on behalf of Georgia citizens so that Georgia can be the first state in the South to have true Same-Day voter registration where voters can show up on election day and register to vote. In Georgia, it currently takes 4-6 weeks to register, while handguns, rifles, and shotguns can be purchased without registration or license.

Our Approach

Low Propensity

We reject the idea of low propensity voters. This concept places the blame at the feet of the victimized, marginalized, and ignored. By cultivating the voices of young people and those that have been excluded, we are creating a generation of super voters that will affect political outcomes for decades.

SHOTS2 is a non-profit, nonpartisan civic engagement and political advocacy organization that believes in building community power through voter education and education. We believe that laws should provide joy and opportunity for everyone including the victimized, marginalized, and ignored. Our work is centered around youth, justice impacted people, and the working class. We’re not chasing the next election– we’re building a generation of super voters through data-driven strategy, deep organizing, power building, and political education.
